Unit Title:	The Egg in Story and Song

A picture book about egg-laying animals.

Activities:

• Read the picture book out loud to the class.
• Talk about the kinds of animals that lay eggs.  Introduce the word "oviporous".
• Ask the children which is their favorite egg-laying animal.
• Teach the class the following song to the tune of "Did You Ever See A Lassie?".  Let the children pick which oviporous animals to include in each verse:
